Meet Molly Hughes: DKCU's Midfield Dynamo is Back!

Hailing from Rockton, Illinois, 19-year-old Molly Hughes returns to DeKalb County United for another summer of community, competition, and controlled chaos in the center of the park. A proud Redbird from Illinois State University, Molly brings both grit and grace to the pitch—and this year, she’s doubling down on her love for the club.

Why DKCU? In her own words: It's really close to home, I love the community around it, and I'm really excited for year two with the club! That’s the kind of hometown loyalty we love to see.

When she’s not busy locking down opposing midfields, Molly dreams of meeting Messi, jumping out of airplanes (on purpose), and living a life built on ambition over comfort. She’s more big party than small gathering, more Coke than Pepsi, and all heart when it comes to her teammates and community.

Her bucket list is as bold as her passes—next up: skydiving. At 80? She says what’ll matter most is who she’s surrounded by. (We’re betting it’ll still be Annies fans.)

Oh, and if you want to make her smile—bring up Everton. Just maybe not their las few years.
