At last week’s Board of Directors meeting, three Board members completed their terms. Dr. Dave Smith, Jenny Hall, and Brian VanBuren all departed the group while Cindy Diedrich and Melissa Beck joined the Board.
“The club is grateful for the time that Dave, Jenny, and Brian put into moving this club forward,” said Board President John Hall.
Dave joined the Board in November of 2022 and served for two years in a Director role.
Jenny and Brian both were part of the original founding Board back in 2017 and served as Secretary and Treasurer since the club’s birth. For seven and a half years both of them were involved with numerous aspects of the club’s growth, spending countless hours around the table, on virtual meetings, and working home matches.
Hall added, “What Jenny and BVB sacrificed, especially in those early years, to get this club off the ground is a debt that can’t be repaid. We can never thank them enough. The battles we fought together put DKCU in a position to be sustainable and created the framework for an amazing culture and a club that this community should be proud of. I hope their names are enshrined in the club’s history books someday.”
But change can be exciting as well, and adding quality partners to the Board will push the club to new heights in 2025 and beyond.
“Bringing in Cindy and Melissa is awesome for the club,” said Hall. “Both of them are experienced in serving organizations like DKCU and can be strong advocates for our mission. As we continue to develop the next phase of the club’s growth, we’ll look for strong leaders like Cindy and Melissa to help guide our strategic vision.”
The current Board of Directors includes John Hall, Ramneek Chitkara, Andy Hayes, Erica Huerta, Cindy Diedrich, and Melissa Beck. Per bylaws, the club is allowed up to nine board members.
