WHO WE ARE
We are DeKalb County United; a not-for-profit 501(c)(4) organization with one goal...unite our community. We aim to provide our players, our supporters, and our community with a one-of-a-kind sporting experience.
We run an adult men's and women's semi-professional soccer sides who compete in the MidWest Premier League (MWPL),, and the Illinois Women's Soccer League.
UNITED
Like many small towns, local rivalries are big here. While we embrace the rivalry we want to grow this idea of being neighbors and not enemies. We can achieve this by encouraging families to come together in support of one common goal. Additionally, we want to motivate our youth to be healthy and active by pursuing sports and give young adults a chance to play at the professional level. Lastly, we want to grow our community through the promotion of local businesses.
BARBED WIRE
DeKalb is where barbed wire was invented. Joseph Glidden, Issac L. Elwood, and Jacob Haish were three locals who modernized fencing cattle by intertwining two wires with a metal wire with protruding spikes.
AGRICULTURE
The first Agricultural Fair was held in Sycamore and DeKalb County is viewed as the birthplace of the Farm Bureau movement. To this day, DeKalb County is known for some of the most fertile soil in the world and is a large contributor to the world's corn production.
